Job Overview:
The Manager - Market Development (MMD) will actively identify local market growth opportunities to drive volume, grow margins, and close distribution and availability gaps. The MDD role will collaborate with DSD Regional Leadership, Regional and National Account sales teams, Partner Brand representatives and cross-functional partners to deliver on corporate brand initiatives. This role will provide analysis of syndicated and financial data to evaluate distribution, pricing, and merchandising opportunities by market, channel, and accounts. The MDD will execute monthly review of all measured channels focusing on critical scorecard metrics. This role reports to the Market Development Director.
This is a remote based position. The ideal candidate will need to be based in the Dallas, TX market and able to travel up to 30%.
Responsibilities:
- Identify Local Market Growth Opportunities
- Partner with DSD Regional Leadership and Sales Teams close product distribution voids
- Identify local market opportunities to reduce out-of-stocks and action plan.
- Identify local market opportunities to drive favorable mix (e.g. cold drink availability) and develop supporting local programs and scorecarding.
- Improve product life cycle management and reduce waste
- Leverage national marketing programs and local partnerships to deliver growth
- Drive CMA compliance with focus on UDS and Regional Accounts.
- Lead Market Activation of Sales Programs
- Drive “Day 1 Minute 1” execution including inventory readiness and scorecarding
- Lead POS forecast & ordering for assigned markets
- Develop UDS and Regional Brand trade marketing and sampling programs
- Develop and communicate route sales incentives, track, rank and post results
- Ensure communication of merchandising standards
- Tailor corporate brand promotions to the local market
- Create local promotions aligned with the Company’s overall priorities
- Manage relationships with Local Market Partners (e.g. sports venues)
- Develop Strategic Brand Execution Tools, Programs and Management Process
- Lead communication to assigned markets on upcoming marketing programs, innovation, and Sales Incentive Calendar
- Drive execution of Speed-to-Market programs
- Execute brand training and supporting tools (e.g. sell sheets) are distributed.
- Ensure marketing spend is forecasted and accrued to include POS, racks, and individual brand budgets
- Work with Partner Brands to deliver volume and revenue plan
- Engage and support the DSD leadership team including attending BU/Regional meetings, weekly calls, monthly P&L and MOR calls, and trade visits to drive Strategic Brand Execution
Requirements:
- 2+ years’ experience working within a Direct Store Delivery environment in a sales and/or general management role
- Key Account management experience preferred
- 4-year college degree or equivalent work experience
- MS Office applications: Excel, Power Point, and Word
- Salient Margin Minder experience preferred
- Travel:Up to 30% of the time/as needed
