The Hilb Group is currently seeking a motivated and ambitious Benefits Operations Manager to join our team. This position will report to our agency located in Mansfield, MA. The ideal candidate will be motivated to succeed, is well organized, able to prioritize, and able to work well with a team. This can be an in-office or remote position, and will need to travel to Massachussets at least once per quarter.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as a vital partner in providing our Broker, Operations, Sales, Account Management and Accounting Operations teams with deep employee benefits and EDI knowledge
- Oversee teams based in multiple locations to include remote/at home sites
- Interface directly with clients, outsource partners and suppliers, in addition to collaborating with internal business teams to implement and manage growth plans
- Responsible for recommending, developing, and implementing operational plans and policies to ensure attainment of near-term performance targets as well as long-term strategic business objectives
- Responsible for the optimization of performance and effective employee/client management and communication
- Internal expert on carrier connections / EDI Files / 834 files
- Develop comprehensive reporting and analysis tools including performance metrics and productivity reports with long term trending models to support business decisions and strategic direction
- Consistently direct the work of multiple direct reports and provides training as needed
- Responsible for the decision to engage, terminate, advance, promote, or change status for employees under their direct or indirect supervision
- Establish trust and credibility by fostering a positive relationship with senior executives, management, and associates.
- Identify and communicate best practices, trends, and general industry news
- Identify and lead projects to improve service delivery efficiencies and workflows
- Analyze productivity and quality results to formulate action plans for continuous performance improvement
- Disseminate information regarding the corporation, industry, competition, and other relative issues to management staff
- Partner with other departments to ensure a thorough understanding of the servicing area to design and implement highly effective and efficient customer service strategies
- Provide and demonstrate effective leadership and soft skills in managing operations to ensure attainment of departmental performance measurements and goals
- Facilitate training and serve as an ongoing resource
- Maintain constructive relationships with co-workers and members of management
- Recognize items/issues that have budgetary impacts and adjust accordingly
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years experience in the employee benefits industry
- Expert with carrier connections / EDI Files / 834 files
- Experience with ADP Workforce Now benefit administration modules strongly preferred
- Bachelor's degree in related field (additional equivalent experience above the required minimum may substitute for the required level of education)
- Successful track record leading and developing direct reports
- Solid knowledge of all MS Office products
- Strong presentation/public speaking experience in large groups
- Strong demonstration of personal initiative and self-direction
- Proven experience leading strategic initiatives with both direct and indirect reports
- Proven knowledge and compliance with applicable federal and state regulatory requirements
- Problem solver with excellent analytical skills
- Excellent organizational and time management skills as well as the ability to meet deadlines
- Process flow development and support abilities
- Comfortable working on multiple projects simultaneously
- Ability to refine policies, procedures, and service levels
