About the role
Reworld Waste Healthcare Solutions business unit is looking to hire a Business Development Manager to develop new lines of business in our Pharmaceutical Services segment and manage and develop relationships with existing clients. The target market is the pharmaceutical reverse supply chain, and companies in that market require reverse logistics services, including entities with a Drug Enforcement Agency license for reverse distribution. We offer the pharmaceutical industry a full suite of sustainable service solutions, including reporting, technical services, transportation, recycling, and assured destruction by Energy-from-Waste (EfW) for unserviceable products, ingredients, and packaging generated throughout the reverse supply chain. The successful candidate will be instrumental in identifying potential opportunities based on the Pharmaceutical Services value proposition and developing these opportunities into long-term client relationships. The candidate will collaborate with various levels of Operations, Environment, Health, Safety, and Customer Care resources to develop, sell, and implement customized solutions to meet customers' needs in the pharmaceutical sector.
Responsibilities include
- Manage existing business: Collaborate with Operations and Customer Care to service the existing client business needs.
- Expand existing business: Expand existing business and identify opportunities to cross-sell services to existing clients.
- Launch, promote, and expand new business lines and opportunities: Analyze market conditions, identify key targets, and develop and implement new business strategies to grow Reworld Waste's revenues.
- Maintain a high level of market intelligence for the sector.
- Forecast and budget: Actively input, communicate, and work with management on the monthly forecast and annual budget process for our Healthcare Solutions.
- Perform other duties as required.
Position Requirements
- Undergraduate degree in Natural Sciences, Engineering, Business Administration, Marketing, or Sales and relevant industry experience.
- 5+ years of experience in account management in the hazardous or non-hazardous waste industry is preferred.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and creative skills.
- Strong sales and negotiation techniques.
- The ability to work effectively with people at all levels and be an influencer.
- The ability to collaborate and work well within a team and independently and exhibit competent leadership skills.
- The ability to manage complex eternal client relationships and equally complex internal operational relationships.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to communicate our Healthcare Solutions value proposition across all levels of the client organization.
- Desire to work in a fast-paced, highly regulated, and technical industry.
- Travel – nationally, up to 75%.
- Experience in reverse logistics and pharmaceutical supply chain is preferable but not required.
