About the role
Are you ready to kickstart your career in a dynamic and innovative environmental solutions team? Reworld Environmental Solutions, a national leader in Sustainable Environmental Solutions, is seeking a Market Area Specialist to join our team in Massachusetts. This early career role is designed for motivated individuals eager to develop their skills and knowledge in the waste management industry.
Position Overview:
As a Market Area Specialist, you will manage an effective waste portfolio that includes residential, commercial, and select municipal customers. Your primary goal will be to maximize financial and operational objectives while developing and implementing a Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) program with the support of a mentor. No prior S&OP knowledge is required—just a willingness to learn and collaborate.
In this role, you will conduct waste procurement, monitor fuel supply, and engage in asset management activities. You will also be responsible for revenue-generating activities such as managing waste contracts and providing input on facility operations. As you gain experience, you will take on more leadership responsibilities, collaborating with the Market Area Director and facility teams to address procurement issues and community outreach.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage fuel (waste) supply with Sales and Operations teams.
- Oversee daily waste inventory management and maintain Facility Detail Models.
- Serve as a liaison for all delivery and contract-related matters, working with customers, plant management, and operations teams.
- Conduct demand forecasts to enhance supply chain operations.
- Design and develop reports and dashboards to support decision-making.
- Lead monthly S&OP meetings to improve communication and service delivery. Assist with budgeting and financial forecasting activities.
- Promote a positive image and maintain relationships with partners and customers.
- Analyze data to support strategic initiatives and operational improvements.
Requirements:
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and collaboration skills.
- An associate’s or Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution is preferred.
- At least two years experience in a related role or equivalent education and experience.
- Strong analytical, planning, and organizational abilities; proficiency in database analysis and report-building tools
- Ability to understand profit and loss, budgets, and forecasts.
- Strong team player with the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and data manipulation. Physical Demands:
- Daily reporting to the facility and travel to other locations as needed.
Work Environment:
- Primarily office-based at our Reworld Massachusetts facilities, with optional remote work flexibility.
