The Sales Support Specialist - SLED Focused plays a vital role in providing dedicated support to our SLED (State, Local, and Education) sector clients. This role involves collaborating closely with the Sales team to ensure seamless HP product delivery, optimizing client satisfaction, and contributing to revenue growth by supporting SLED-focused opportunities.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, knowledgeable about SLED-related policies and procurement procedures, and experienced in managing complex, high-stakes sales processes. This person should also be proactive, able to manage multiple priorities, and skilled in building strong client relationships.
Essential Functions
- Assist Sales and Sales Engineering by performing sales support activities including product inquiry, preparing quotes and proposals for a single solution offering or vendor (HP).
- Assist Sales and Sales Engineering by facilitating sales support activities including qualifying deals, deal registration, product inquiry, and preparation of quotes.
- Attend various trainings applicable for any new solutions and process changes as needed.
- Answer client inquiries from phone, fax, email, and mail in a timely manner.
- Assist the sales team in creating proposals, quotes, and presentations tailored to the needs of SLED clients.
- Work collaboratively with the Sales team to build and maintain strong relationships with key contacts within the SLED sector.
- Validate quotes for accuracy by working with our vendor partners.
- Provide backup to other team members when they are out, including becoming cross trained in their areas.
- Validate designated gross margin targets.
- Accurately maintain and comply with documentation and administrative procedures in a timely basis to include time entry and sales and purchase order processes.
- Uphold Marco’s business ethics by supporting Marco’s vision, mission, and values.
- Develop and maintain in-depth knowledge of company products and services, Marco sales processes, markets, trends, competitors, and clients to maximize efficiency and effectiveness.
- Support Marco’s commitment to total client satisfaction through active participation in the Corrective Action Request (CAR) process including prompt research and resolution.
Education And Experience
- An associate degree and two years of relevant experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience selling or working within a K-12 School District environment a plus.
Required Skills
- Proficiency with business collaboration tools including MS Office applications, Outlook, vendor software, and company specific programs.
- Excellent verbal communication skills with internal and external clients.
