The Hilb Group is currently seeking a motivated and ambitious Benefits Enrollment Specialist to join our team. This position will report to our agency located in Hunt Valley, MD. The ideal candidate will be motivated to succeed, is well organized, able to prioritize, and able to work well with a team. This is a remote position.
Responsibilities:
- Eligibility Review: Review and assess employee benefits applications and documentation to ensure compliance with company policies and eligibility requirements for various benefits programs (e.g., health insurance, retirement plans, disability benefits, etc.).
- Data Verification: Verify eligibility criteria by cross-referencing data, confirming employment status, and ensuring the accurate entry of eligibility information into the system.
- Client and Employee Support: Serve as a point of contact for employees, HR departments, and external stakeholders to provide guidance on eligibility requirements, benefit options, and any related questions or concerns.
- Compliance and Regulatory Adherence: Ensure all eligibility determinations adhere to federal, state, and company-specific regulations. Stay up to date with changes in relevant laws, including healthcare regulations, tax laws, and benefits-related policies.
- Reporting and Documentation: Assist in the creation and maintenance of accurate records for all eligibility assessments, ensuring proper documentation and reporting in compliance with company standards and privacy policies.
- Training and Development: Participate in training to remain current on benefits programs, eligibility requirements, and changes in related laws and regulations. Support team initiatives for continuous learning and improvement.Issue Resolution: Investigate and resolve discrepancies or issues related to benefits eligibility, collaborating with internal teams or external entities to resolve problems in a timely and efficient manner.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with HR, payroll, and other departments to ensure seamless benefits enrollment, eligibility determination, and communication for employees.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in benefits administration, eligibility determination, or a related administrative role, preferably within a corporate or healthcare environment.
- Strong knowledge of employee benefits programs, eligibility criteria, and related regulatory requirements.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to identify discrepancies in benefits applications and documentation.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with employees, HR personnel, and other stakeholders.
- Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations related to employee benefits (e.g., ACA, FMLA, COBRA) is highly desirable.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.) and experience with benefits management software or systems.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, supporting the broader goals of the eligibility team.

- Compensation: $45,000-$50,000/yr.
