Job Scope
The Director of Sales Operations for the Medical Device division will be responsible for leading and managing the sales operation’s function. This includes strategic planning, sales process optimization, sales program implementation, sales analytics, and performance management.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement sales operations strategies to drive revenue growth and enhance sales team performance
- Analyze sales data and market trends to identify opportunities for improvement and optimization.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, finance, human resources and operations, to align sales strategies with overall business objectives.
- Provide leadership and guidance to sales operations team members, including setting goals and ensuring accountability
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to streamline processes and enhance the overall sales operation’s function
- Manage the roll-out of new products, ensuring the sales team is well-equipped with the necessary tools and information
- Responsible for Sales Force Administration including configuration, troubleshooting, user management and monthly health checks
- Designs and administers incentive compensation plans and contests, ensuring plans motivate field personnel and support commercial sales objectives. Manage compensation activities including quota setting, plan development, commission calculations and processing, and MBO development and tracking
- Lead Sales Operations Services to manage:
- Territory alignments and mapping
- Market data sourcing, formatting and distribution for field consumption
- Territory headcount planning, sizing and management span of control
- Development of reporting and metrics tools to analyze trends and operations data for decision making related to sales plan, product pricing, sales process, territory performance and alignments, quotas, commission programs, customer service, and contract marketing.
- Responsible for customer pricing analysis, contract generation, execution and compliance in collaboration with sales and finance
- Collaborate with finance and IT to administer and leverage existing CRM tools and identify potential new tools
- Coordinate analytics and preparation for key business processes, including business reviews, board meetings, and revenue/performance updates
Qualifications
- Proven track record of driving revenue growth and implementing successful sales strategies
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret sales data and market trends. Experience with sales analytics and CRM systems
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, sales, marketing, or related major preferred; MBA preferred.
Experience:
- 10+ years of experience in sales operations, with at least 5 years in a leadership role, preferably within the medical device industry
- Senior-level experience across a uniquely broad range of commercial functions, including Commercial Operations, Business Analytics, Marketing and Sales
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities
